Metaphysical Properties:

Iolite derives its name from the Greek word for violet but is also known as cordierite, dichroite, water sapphire and lynx sapphire. Used by the Vikings to navigate the ocean, it is a stone of dreams, intuition and exploration and provides an inner compass for the soul. It brings peace during spiritual journeying, astral travel and past life regression, as well as increasing the vividness of dreams. It dissolves fears of the unknown and provides solutions to problems with a calm, positive state of mind and clear sense of perspective. Meditate with iolite to stimulate the third eye chakra, increasing psychic awareness, vision and power of the imagination for realising and living out dreams. It enhances empathy for understanding and resolving discord in relationships. It lends balance, strength, endurance and motivation.
